GUNMEN ASSASSINATE ADEWALE ADESANYA THE BANK ACCOUNT OFFICER TO EX-MILITANTS ON THE AMNESTY PROGRAMME


It was a sad weekend for the people of Bayelsa State as Adewale Adesanya, a 39-year-old senior bank officer based in Yenegoa was killed by gunmen on Saturday 13 August in the Ahoada area Rivers State.
Adewale was an account officer to majority of the ex-militants who were granted amnesty and were on the payroll of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).
He was shot repeatedly in his car on his way to Port Harcourt in the company of two friends.
The narratives went on to say that the gunmen swooped on his car and shot at him and the car skidded into the bush.
The killers still followed him and shot at him much more times to make sure he was dead.
His friends who accompanied him Haruna and Samson, crawled out of the car and took their heels when they noticed the men still chasing them after the accident.
Adewale who hailed from Ijebu Ode in Ogun State, was described as a socialite and well known in Bayelsa. He is survived by a pregnant wife and two kids.
